How to deal with sensitive teeth - THE dentist, Salisbury

How to deal with sensitive teeth

24th May 2020

If you’ve got some localised sensitivity, usually topical applications of sensitive toothpaste will help. So if you locate exactly where it is get a little bit of toothpaste on your finger and rub it into the area and just leave it there. What you can do is, after you’ve brushed your teeth at night time, pop a little bit of the sensitive toothpaste on to the area and then off you go to sleep. Leave it there.

Otherwise try avoiding extreme temperatures, very acidic foods, very very sweet foods because that will set it off. If you find that the sensitive toothpaste is helping you do have to carry on using it, as they are very clever like that – as soon as you stop using it, it will stop working. So please just be aware!
